Before any work began, the entire interior of the chapel was painted white, and initial exploratory probes in 2021 revealed the presence of an underlying painted decor dating from the very beginning of the 20th century. These discoveries enabled us to faithfully reconstruct the decor, featuring its faux ashlar masonry, floral cornice and framing friezes, and this floral crown above the triumphal arch.

The polychrome wooden high altar dates from 1732; its creation is attributed to the Godel workshop in Fribourg and its polychromy to Antoine Bräutigam from Bulle. The original polychromy beneath the current polychromy dating from 1904 was documented during exploratory soundings in 2011: it is a sumptuous faux-marble created using a silver-leaf background covered with a blue glaze and gold-leaf veining, which covers the columns, pilasters, painting frames, tabernacle, and antependium cartouches. The original polychromy was uncovered given its remarkable quality and good state of conservation. The altarpiece paintings, attributed to the sisters Marguerite-Agnès and Jeanne-Gertrude Richard (1732-173[3]), have been restored: the removal of the varnish allowed the colors to gain significantly in luminosity.

    <div class="elementor-element elementor-element-488e8c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-gallery" data-id="488e8c0"
